Steps to creating a Panda Cushion


What you need
  • Template/Pattern Piece
  • Polar Fleece (35cm white & black- or black felt)
  • Polyester Stuffing/Filling
  • Pins
  • Black and White Threads
  • A needle
  • A pair of fabric scissors and/or a sharp pair of scissors
  • Glue or Sticky Tape
  • Sewing machine (alternative: you can hand stitch)
Steps
  1. Glue or sticky tape template pages together
  2. Cut out template
  3. Pin face to white fleece
  4. Cut out  face
  5. Pin pupils onto white fleece
  6. Cut pupil
  7. Pin arms and legs onto black fleece
  8. Cut out arms legs
  9. Pin ears onto black fleece 
  10. Cut out ears
  11. Pin eyes onto black fleece
  12. Cut out eyes
  13. Pin nose and tail onto black fleece                                  
  14. Cut out nose and tail
  15. Pin eyes and nose onto right side of face
  16. Sew eyes and nose onto face
  17. Pin arms and legs together
  18. Sew around the edge of the arms and legs and leave an opening
  19. Clip arms and legs (not too close to the stitching)
  20. Pin ears together
  21. Sew around the edge of the ears and leave an opening
  22. Clip ears (not too close to the stitching)
  23. Pin pupils onto eyes
  24. Sew pupils onto eyes
  25. Flip arms and legs inside out
  26. Roll the edges
  27. Stuff arms and legs with polyester stuffing
  28. Pin arms and legs onto face
  29. Flip ears inside out
  30. Roll the edges
  31. Stuff ears with polyester stuffing
  32. Pin ears onto face
  33. Sew ears, arms and legs onto face
  34. Hand sew a running stitch around the edge of the tail
  35. Gently tug the running stitch to gather the edge
  36. Stuff the tail with polyester stuffing
  37. Hand stitch the tail onto the right side of back face
  38. Pin faces right sides together
  39. Sew around the edge and leave an opening (Leave 1cm seam allowance)
  40. Clip face (not too close to the stitching)
  41. Flip face inside out
  42. Roll the edge
  43. Stuff panda with polyester stuffing
  44. Hand stitching the opening

    Congratulations! You’ve created your own panda cushion!

Steps to creating a Piggy Cushion



What you need
  • Template/Pattern Piece
  • 35cm Pink Polar Fleece
  • A sheet of Black Felt
  • A pipe cleaner
  • A piece of White Polar Fleece or White Felt
  • Polyester Stuffing/Filling
  • Pins
  • Black, White and Pink Threads
  • A needle
  • A pair of fabric scissors and/or a sharp pair of scissors
  • Glue or Sticky Tape
  • Sewing machine (alternative: you can hand stitch)
Steps
  1. Glue or sticky tape template pages together
  2. Cut out template
  3. Pin template to the fabric
  4. Cut out fabric
  5. Pin and stitch the nose and eyes onto face
  6. Pin and stitch nostrils onto nose
  7. Stitch ears right sides together and leave an opening (pin to make sewing easier)
  8. Clip the edges (not too close to the stitching)
  9. Turn ears inside out and roll the edges
  10. Stuff the ears a little with polyester stuffing
  11. Pin ears onto face
  12. Stitch hands and feet right sides together and leave an opening (pin to make sewing easier)
  13. Clip the edges (not too close to the stitching)
  14. Turn hands and feet inside out and roll the edges
  15. Stuff the hands and feet a little with polyester stuffing
  16. Pin hands and feet onto face
  17. Stitch the ears, hands and feet onto face
  18. Sew the tail right sides together and leave an opening (pin to make sewing easier)
  19. Trim the edges
  20. Turn the tail inside out
  21. Cut the pipe cleaner to size and insert into the tail
  22. Cut a hole in the other face piece (not the face with eyes, nose and etc. sewn on)
  23. Insert 1cm of the tail through the hole (inset from outer side –front side of fabric)
  24. Stitch the tail to the face
  25. Pin right sides of face together (the tail, nose, eyes, hands and etc. should be on the inside)
  26. Stitch face and leave a small opening at the bottom (1cm seam allowance)
  27. Clip the edge (not too close to the stitching)
  28. Turn face inside out and roll the edge
  29. Fill face with polyester stuffing
  30. Hand stitch the small opening at the bottom and you're done
